This evening Point Pleasant hosted a training evolution involving one bay front neighborhoods with several unique challenges for emergency responders.

We were thankful to have our mutual aid partners from Irondequoit Fire District West Webster Fire District St Paul Boulevard Fire Dept Sea Breeze Fire Department and representation from the Monroe County Fire Bureau join us.

This evenings event simulated a response to a Structure fire in an area where there is limited access to equipment and municipal water in comparison to the rest of our primary response district.

We would also like to extend a special thanks to the public who supported this event and welcomed us on to their properties for the training event.

This evening Engine 112 in partnership with the crew of West Webster Fire District Engine 125 provided fill in coverage for the Webster Volunteer Fire Department during their annual carnival. The carnival has plenty of time left with a parade tomorrow evening, go have some fun!

As the holiday weekend comes to a close, from all of us here at Point Pleasant we hope everyone has had a safe and enjoyable few days to recharge.

Over the weekend active and life members as well as a large contingent from our youth program participated in the Town of Irondequoit Fouth of July celebration.

We also proudly provided two engine companies as safety personnel for the annual fire works display at the town grounds with crews from the Irondequoit Fire District and the Sea Breeze Fire Department. We are appreciative of the help and support of our mutual aid partners.

At approx 07:40hrs this morning Point Pleasant Fire District was dispatched automatic mutual aid into the St. Paul Fire District for the report of the structure fire.

On the response was Engine 115 and the Deputy Chief. The Engine went to work opening up the outside of the home to assist in finding hidden fires while the Deputy was assigned to the safety officer role.

Units returned in service around 09:45hrs.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the two residents who passed as a result of the fire.

Active and life members of Point Pleasant Fire as well as some of our Explorers proudly participated in the town of Irondequoit Memorial Day Parade today.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and dedication are a testament to the values we hold dear, and we are forever grateful for their selflessness.

The Officers and Members of Point Pleasant are proud to recognize Exterior Firefighter Clarcq as a soon to be graduating senior from East Irondequoit CSD.

August has spent the last seven years as a major contributor and member of our Explorer Post before completing his process to be cleared as an active firefighter last summer. Keep up the good work!
