Hello friends and neighbors! It is that time of year again, NYS DEC is implementing a burn ban March 16th- May 14th. Below is a link for the article explaining what is and is not allowed, as well as some useful tips for recreational fires and what can be burned during this time.

Open burning is the single greatest cause of wildfires in NYS. Since the spring burn ban was implemented in 2009, the number of wildfires has decreased by more than 40%.

The time to "spring forward" is nearly upon us.

We're almost at the time of year when it’s time to adjust those clocks and spring forward.

Many look forward to longer daylight hours, and many dread the lost hour of sleep we get during standard time.

Daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m., Sunday, March 8, we'll lose an hour of sleep, jumping from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m.

Use the time change to replace batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Good evening everyone, we hope to see you tonight at the Sea Breeze Holiday Parade! Tomorrow we will be doing our annual Santa Run. We will be leaving the fire house around 10:00am. We will be going around our local neighborhoods handing out candy canes. Come say hi to your fire fighters and see the engine!

Last night we had the privilege to celebrate one of our members as they graduated the Firefighter One course. This is one of the longer courses and requires countless hours of both studying and honing their hands on skills. Congratulations to Firefighter Englert on his graduation!

Please join us in congratulating Lt Frank Golojuch as he starts the next chapter of his life. Frank has always had a passion for helping others and joined Sea Breeze FD so he could do just that. In his years here he has logged countless hours of training and has obtained a large amount of certifications. Frank has one of those motors that runs forever and always strives to be the hardest working person on the fire ground. No one deserves this opportunity more than him. Congratulations Lieutenant!
