On behalf of the Ironton Fire Department, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the businesses across Aitkin, Crosby, Ironton, and Brainerd for their generous donations to our car show participants.

We would also like to thank our vendors for sharing their time and merchandise, along with The Hudson Smokehouse and Crosby Super One Foods for providing food for the event. Finally, a special thank you goes out to the Ironton businesses and community organizations that organized supporting events throughout the day. Your backing not only strengthens our department but helps showcase everything Ironton has to offer.

We have a special event this year. Ironton Fire Department has partnered with MacDaddy's Donut Garage in Ironton, for you the community to vote on the best donut! You the community gets to vote for the best donut starting on Wednesday 7/22.

🍩🍩Busy week upon us! We got the Irontonfest coming in hot this weekend on Saturday July 25th. We are partnering with the Ironton Fire Department to help raise donations for all that they do for us. Everything they’ve sacrificed for the wildfires to keep all of us safe and our properties protected can’t be thanked enough. This week starting Wednesday we will be doing a Donut voting. Buy one of the donuts advertised and a dollar will be donated to the Ironton Fire Department and vote which one you love the best. Final voting will be Saturday on Irontonfest Day. Don’t want to try the donut but just vote? Not a problem just donate the dollar and your vote gets put it in. Also Saturday during Irontonfest we’ll have live music in the parking lot and also LipSmacking Goodness with Momma’s Lip Smacking Burrito in the parking lot serving up that fresh made to order food! Trust me it’s all worth it from the donations, music and the food. Let’s all get together for a good time and give back to those who give their all for us! 😀🍩🌯🎤😀

Wednesday 5/27 11:30am Flanders Fire Update:

Incident Activity: The MNDNR Division of Forestry found NO hot spots for the past 3 days while monitoring the fire area. The DNR has wrapped up activity and handed the jurisdiction back to local authorities.

Home Visits: Crow Wing County Public Health & Emergency Management Teams have individually contacted everyone affected inside the former Flanders fire evacuation zone to identify needs & help assess any impact the fire may have had on residents’ homes & property. If you have immediate needs or questions email [email protected]

Private Wells: If your property was affected by wildfire & you depend on a private well for drinking water, our Public Health Teams want you to be aware of the following risks:
• Contaminated drinking water may be especially harmful for children.
• Loss of power or water pressure increases the risk of bacteria & other contaminants entering your water system.
• If there is damage to your well or water system, test it before drinking.
• Discolored, odd-smelling, or bad-tasting water should be tested before consuming.
• Some fire retardants can contaminate soil & groundwater after application.
• Heat can cause piping & other well components to crack & expose your water system to contamination.
• Have damaged well or electrical components repaired by a licensed professional.

Reminder: Beware of Contractor Cleanup Scams after Wildfire: After the Flanders wildfire, scam artists & identity thieves often try to take advantage of those cleaning up. Scams can involve anything from tree cleanup to roof & siding repair to smoke damage. Do not give down payment or sign anything right away. Utilize local services or a reputable company

Appreciation: The Crow Wing County Board of Commissioners extends its deepest appreciation to the many departments, agencies, and community partners who responded swiftly and collaboratively to the Flanders Wildfires that broke out in northern Crow Wing County on 5/16. As the wildfire spread rapidly, emergency teams initiated evacuations, closed roads, and coordinated resources to protect residents and property. The Board recognizes the extraordinary efforts of all who played a role in the response.

Flanders Fire Update

Crews will continue working the Flanders Fire throughout today, focusing on hot spots and strengthening containment lines. While the area did receive some rain, it was not significant enough to have much impact on the fire conditions.

County Road 11 remains closed at this time. We will notify the public as soon as the roadway is reopened, which could possibly occur at some point later today.

Once the road does reopen, fire crews and emergency personnel will still be actively working in the area. We ask the public to please avoid interfering with crews so they can continue operating safely and effectively. Our priority remains protecting lives, property, and the safety of everyone in the area.

We are also asking that individuals who do not have a reason to be in the area, including those who may simply be curious, please refrain from traveling into the fire area until crews have completed their work. Keeping unnecessary traffic out of the area helps ensure the safety of both the public and emergency responders.

Again, we are overwhelmed by the incredible support from this community. The kindness, donations, encouragement, and willingness to help have meant so much to the responders and families impacted by this fire. Thank you.
