This sketch was drawn by veterinary student Arthur Grant of his sighting of the Loch Ness Monster. Grant saw the creature on January 5, 1934, at 1 in the morning as he was riding his motorcycle. This sighting is most unique because Grant claimed to have seen Nessie crossing over land, rather than in the Loch itself. He said he witnessed something coming out of the bushes beside the road. He described it as a strange cross between a seal and a plesiosaur with a long neck.
When the creature spotted him, it quickly shuffled across the road and swam into the Loch. Grant reported to have dismounted his motorcycle and followed the creature toward the Loch, wanting to get another glimpse of it. But when he got close enough, it was gone, leaving only ripples in the water.
