🎒✏️ Burlington Elementary is back in session and our roads are once again carrying some very important passengers! 🚌💛
Let’s earn an A+ in school bus and school-zone safety:
🛑 Stop at least 10 feet from a stopped school bus displaying red flashing lights and an extended stop arm.
🚦 Stay stopped until the bus begins moving.
🛣️ On roads with four or more lanes, opposite-direction traffic does not have to stop, but traffic behind the bus must always stop.
🏫 In posted school zones, slow down to 20 mph when the school-zone limit is in effect. Watch carefully for students and crossing guards.
The few seconds you save by rushing are never worth a child’s safety. Slow down, stay alert and help Burlington Elementary students have a safe and wonderful school year!
