What a wonderful evening at the annual Lawrence County Lincoln Day Dinner! 🇺🇸🐘

We were thrilled to welcome more than 160 guests from Lawrence County and beyond to this year’s dinner, held in the beautifully remodeled, historic Ro-Na Theater in downtown Ironton.

State Representative Jason Stephens and Lawrence County Commissioner DeAnna Holliday served as emcees for the evening, and guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner catered by Spice of Life Catering of Coal Grove.

Senator Jon Husted delivered the evening’s keynote address, sharing a message centered on Faith, Family & Freedom and the importance of those values heading into the November election. 🗳️

One of the most special moments of the evening was the opportunity to honor a remarkable lady whose dedication to the Lawrence County Republican Party has spanned more than 70 years. Ms. Maxine Jenkins was recognized as our 2026 “Republican of the Year!” The recognition was made even more special as Ms. Jenkins celebrated an incredible milestone just last week — her 100th birthday! Congratulations, Ms. Jenkins, and thank you for your many decades of dedication and service.

We also want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who attended, sponsored a table, donated desserts for our Sweet Tooth Auction, or provided door prizes. A special thank you also goes to April Knipp for her hard work decorating the theater and helping make the evening so beautiful.

🇺🇸 IMPORTANT ELECTION ANNOUNCEMENT 🇺🇸

Unfortunately, Judge Peter B. Abele of the 4th District Court of Appeals recently passed away. The Lawrence County Republican Party wants to extend our deepest condolences to Judge Abele’s family, friends and colleagues at this time. Judge Abele was slated to be on the ballot for re-election in November.

Because of his passing, a district committee of the 14 counties in the 4th district met last weekend and chose Jayme Hartley Fountain as his replacement on the General Election ballot. Jayme is a conservative Republican, lifelong Southern Ohioan, and career prosecutor with 20 years of experience standing up for victims, enforcing the law, and protecting our communities. Raised in Pickaway County by a Marine Corps Vietnam veteran and an elementary school teacher, Jayme learned early the values of faith, family, hard work, and service.

As a prosecutor, Jayme has handled serious felony cases, advised local governments, and argued before the Fourth District Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Ohio. Now she is ready to take that experience, toughness, and conservative approach to the bench.

Jayme lives in Pickaway County with her husband of nearly 24 years, Will, and their teenage daughter. She is running for the Fourth District Court of Appeals to uphold the Constitution, respect the rule of law, and bring strong conservative values to the court. Please join us in voting for Jayme Hartley Fountain for 4th District Court of Appeals Judge!

Early voting began today! Lawrence County residents can vote early at the Lawrence County Board of Elections located at 1305 S. 3rd St. Ironton, OH or on Election Day on November 3, 2026.

🇺🇸🐘 TODAY IS THE DAY! Make sure you get out and exercise your right to vote for JASON STEPHENS to keep him as our State Representative. Jason has done more for Lawrence Countians than his opponent ever will. Jason cares about us! The polls are open until 7:30 tonight!

Bad people are elected sometimes because good people don’t go out to vote simply because they feel that their “person” has it in the bag. Make no mistake about it, every race is important and it’s imperative that we show up to vote each time.
