Thank you Gogebic Community College, the Gogebic-Ontonagon ISD and TRIO 906 for putting this event together.

A sincere thank you to the Ironwood Public Safety Department for welcoming our Healthcare Heroes students during this year's Summer Youth Programs!

Students had the opportunity to explore emergency equipment, watch demonstrations, and learn firsthand about careers in public safety from the professionals who serve our community every day. Experiences like these help students connect classroom learning with real-world career opportunities and inspire the next generation of healthcare and emergency service professionals.

We truly appreciate your partnership and your investment in our youth.

Summer Youth Programs are proudly brought to the community through a partnership between Gogebic Community College, the Gogebic-Ontonagon ISD (GOISD), and TRIO 906.

The week of June 8th, contractors for the City of Ironwood will be performing water line work in the downtown of Ironwood. This will require a two-block detour as shown on the attached map. The Contractor will be coordinating with surrounding businesses to keep as much parking open as possible and to limit disruptions to customers and business owners. The detour is expected to be in place for Monday through Friday.

Also, as pipe installation is nearing completion on Ridge Street, Jake’s Excavating will begin street removal on East Arch Street (west of Lowell Street) next week. The digging of mainline water and sewer pipes is planned to begin on June15th.

The project will NOT be performing any further work east of Lowell Street on East Arch Street as that section of road is not in the project scope of work. The recent work in this East Arch Street area was performed by Xcel Energy due to their need to replace the gas lines.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work on completing this critical infrastructure work.

Making threats is serious and not only is there school repercussions, some threats can be considered terroristic and Michigan Law identifies that as a felony that could be punishable up to 20 years in prison.

It’s on Monday the 25th 2026 at 10 AM and the starting location is at the Memorial building.

It’s a very busy weekend and there’s a lot of things to do throughout the area

There will be a 5K & 10K John Jarvi Memorial run. The registration for the run will be at 7 AM at Main Street fitness.

Along with a bunch of music Saturday and Sunday afternoon downtown Ironwood at the City Square starting at and several other locations starting at 2pm.
