I extend my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Retired Brigadier General Mike Aguilar, President and CEO of the Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation, on achieving a remarkable milestone for the City of Irvine and our nation: the topping-out ceremony for the new Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum at the Great Park.
With the structural framework now complete, we are one step closer to opening the world’s only museum dedicated to Marine Corps aviation. Slated to open in 2028, this state-of-the-art facility will honor the bravery and sacrifice of Marine aviators and tell their story — from the earliest days of flight to modern operations — through historic aircraft, rare artifacts, hands-on STEM educational spaces, and interactive exhibits.
Thank you to BGen Aguilar, the Foundation Board, our veterans, generous donors, and the Snyder Langston construction team for helping build a lasting civic legacy for generations to come.
