A trip to remember 🌆💛

There’s something so special about watching one of our scholars step outside of everything familiar and into a whole new city. This week, one of our own spent time exploring Chicago — and it was a joy to see her take it all in.

She stood in front of masterpieces at the Art Institute, the kind of art she’d only seen in textbooks, now close enough to touch. She looked up in awe at a skyline built by people who dreamed big and built bigger. She found her own reflection staring back at her under the Bean, surrounded by strangers from all over the world doing exactly the same thing. And yes — she tried real Chicago deep dish, because some experiences just have to be lived, not just heard about.

These moments — new cities, new perspectives, a little independence — are exactly what we hope for every scholar we support. It’s not just about the places they see. It’s about who they become along the way.
