Securing an event of this size required significant coordination among federal, state, and local partners.

Airspace security is an important part of the overall safety plan for the RNC Midterm Convention.

Temporary Flight Restrictions will be in place in the Dallas-Fort Worth area during portions of the convention. These restrictions apply to all aircraft, including airplanes, helicopters, and drones.

Drone operations in restricted areas will be prohibited unless prior approval has been obtained through the appropriate federal process.

Pilots and drone operators are responsible for checking NOTAMs before flying.

Violators may be subject to enforcement action.

Please help support a safe and secure event by following all airspace restrictions.

If you live, work, or travel near areas affected by the RNC Midterm Convention, please plan ahead and allow extra time.

Vehicle and pedestrian impacts should be expected around event venues, staging areas, and other secured locations.

Businesses and residences within affected areas are expected to remain generally accessible, but vehicles and pedestrians may need to pass through security screening or checkpoints before entering certain areas.

We know security operations for an event of this size can create inconveniences. Public safety partners are working to minimize disruptions as much as possible while maintaining the level of security required for the event.

Temporary security measures for the RNC Midterm Convention are expected to become more visible beginning around September 4.

Official closures are expected to begin September 7 and remain in place until approximately midnight on September 11, following the conclusion of event activities. These details are subject to change as planning continues and information is finalized for public release.

Residents, businesses, commuters, and visitors near affected areas should monitor official updates from the City of Dallas, law enforcement, and event organizers.

Please plan ahead, allow extra time, and follow posted signs and instructions from public safety personnel.

As preparations continue for the RNC Midterm Convention in Dallas, the public can expect to see visible security measures in and around the American Airlines Center and nearby affected areas.

These may include an increased law enforcement presence, temporary fencing, vehicle barriers, checkpoints, access control points, and traffic restrictions.

Some security measures will be visible, while others will not be.

Protecting our children takes all of us.

The U.S. Secret Service Dallas Field Office was proud to stand with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office and our federal, state, and local partners to announce the results of a coordinated operation focused on combating human trafficking and child exploitation.

As part of the solicitation of a minor portion of the operation, the U.S. Secret Service provided online chatters, technical expertise, analysis, and coordinated with law enforcement partners. That work contributed to the arrest of four individuals who were attempting to exploit children.

This operation is a reminder that strong partnerships, proactive enforcement, and community awareness are our most important tools in keeping children safe.

As students head back to school, we encourage parents and guardians to take time to talk with their children about online safety. Know who they are communicating with, pay attention to the apps and platforms they use, and remind them they can always come to a trusted adult if something online makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

Together, we can help protect children both online and offline.

As preparations continue for the RNC Midterm Convention in Dallas, the U.S. Secret Service Dallas Field Office is working hand in hand with our federal, state, and local partners to support a safe and secure event for our protectees, attendees, businesses, and community.

Security planning continues for the 2026 RNC Midterm Convention at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Director Sean Curran and U.S. Secret Service leadership were briefed on preparations and coordination efforts underway.

The Secret Service Dallas Field Office, Presidential Protective Division, Dignitary Protective Division, and federal, state, and local partner agencies continue to work closely together to support a safe and secure environment for protectees, attendees, and the community.
