Check out the article in this week's Rambler Newspaper featuring KIB volunteers conducting their Trash Bash cleanups. There is still time to do a cleanup, report and be entered into the drawing for some fabulous prizes! #IrvingTrashBash

Last year, Keep Irving Beautiful's Trash Bash drew nearly 500 volunteers who collected over 500 pounds of trash. But in spite of COVID-19, 2020's Trash Bash was still a success. Find out more at our website! #irivng #keepirvingbeautiful #ramblernewspapers

Thanks, Irving Sunrise Rotary! This great group of volunteers added a cleanup to their monthly schedule to be part of the #IrvingTrashBash!

On Saturday September 19th, the Irving Sunrise Rotary Club participated in the City of Irving's 29th Annual Trash Bash. We added this to our monthly Adopt-a-Spot program.

This month, we welcome 3 "Rookies" (Mark Zeske, Kathrine Pennington & David Basoco) who helped clean the segment of Beltline road between Rochelle and Finley. Upon completion, they ceremoniously "Touch the Pole"!

Irving Public Library

We are happy to share this fun project from the Irving Public Library.
LookIng forward to seeing all your origami cranes! #IrvingCranes

To celebrate International Peace Day, the Irving Public Library and partners challenge Irving residents to create 1,000 origami cranes from August 15-September 15. Beginning Aug. 15, the community is invited to pick up packages of origami paper, while supplies last, at any of the open libraries and community partner sites. No special paper is required. So you can also use paper from home to create origami cranes. Bring your cranes to the library by Sept. 15 where artist Sarah Downey will turn them into art installation pieces for public display. #IrvingCranes

KIB says THANK YOU to the great group of recreation staff members that we have had the pleasure of working with these past few weeks. They most recently painted three pavilions at Running Bear Park, and previously they painted indoors at the Senter East Building. Our residents are really going to notice the positive difference they have made!

Shout out to recreation staff for helping other departments within the city while the recreation centers are closed! Departments like Keep Irving Beautiful, Irving Animal Services, Code Enforcement, and helped North Texas Food Bank with food distribution. Thank you for your continued hard work! 👏👏👏

For those interested in Electronics Recycling: According to EPA the United States is estimated to have generated nearly 50 million tons of electronics waste in 2018 compared to 41.8 million tons worldwide in 2014. Currently the US produces about 14% of the world's electronic waste.
