#irvingtrashoff The Keep Irving Beautiful clean up in Northwest Park went really well this morning. It was fun, social and an adventure. And wow, does the park look better! 5 of us made it to the event: Soulafa Amer and her son, Theresa Canales, Rebecca Bates and me. Hope you can join us next time. Rod Roberts came over to take our pictures. Thanks Rod! Look for sporadic "Keep Espanita Beautiful" events.

A reminder to our volunteers who have registered for the in-person event:

Tomorrow is the day - The Don’t mess with Texas Trash-Off/Great American Cleanup and Canned Food Drive at Trinity View Park! We have a few reminders and safety precautions that we wanted to share with you prior to the event.
• This is a rain or shine event! There is a possibility of rain today and tomorrow, so bring rain gear if needed. (In the case of lightning, we advise everyone to go to their cars and stay until the “all clear signal” is given).
• Because we are staggering the sign-in times for social distancing, it is very important that you sign in at your assigned time (please arrive a little early and wait in your vehicle).
• Bring your signed releases. Everyone must have a release, and volunteers 17 and under must have a parent or guardian sign the release.
• Dress appropriately for a cleanup and wear close-toed shoes.
• Please wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines of six feet.
• This is also a canned food drive to benefit Crisis Ministries food pantry. Suggested contribution is two items per person, if possible. All those who donate food will receive a T-shirt while supplies last. (Thank you!)

Directions to Trinity View Park:
GPS Coordinates for our meeting location (pavilion by the soccer fields) are:
32.808094. -96.908416
If you are coming from Irving, take Highway 356 across Loop 12. Just after the Wildwood stoplight, take the exit to the service road and follow it into the park. Turn right into the parking lot.
If you are coming from Dallas, take Highway 356 across the Elm Fork of the Trinity River. At the Wildwood light, turn left, then turn left on 6th Street. Follow this into the park, and turn right into the parking lot.

Once again, THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered for this event. We appreciate you.

For those interested in Electronics Recycling: According to EPA the United States is estimated to have generated nearly 50 million tons of electronics waste in 2018 compared to 41.8 million tons worldwide in 2014. Currently the US produces about 14% of the world's electronic waste.
