Kitten Season is starting all across Texas, and Irving Animal Services is no exception! 😻

Remember, if you find kittens-mom is usually out hunting (or watching you from afar) and she will return. A kitten’s best place is with their mom. Not all kittens found alone are orphans. To determine if a kitten needs your help, follow this flowchart!

May is Chip Your Pet Month! We love Irving’s pets, but we love to see them go home even more. This sweet pup was picked back up by their owner after coming into the shelter. 🐶💕

Help make sure your pet gets back home by getting them microchipped. Microchips are a permanent form of identification that allows an animal shelter or veterinary clinic to contact you if your pet has been found. The process of getting a microchip is similar to getting a vaccine, and the microchip itself is only about the size of a grain of rice. Irving Animal Services offers microchipping for just $10. For more information, click here: https://www.cityofirving.org/320/Microchipping

Did you know that our volunteers get to do things like take our dogs on camping trips?! This past weekend, Fronk went on an adventure that included hiking, camping, extra snacks and seeing cool animals like geese! Fronk is now available for adoption with DFW Humane Society. For more information on adopting this adventure buddy, visit http://www.dfwhumane.com/adopt/#tab-id-1

We couldn’t do what we do at Irving Animal Services without our volunteers. We want to take this moment to give a huge “Thank you!” to our volunteers for their dedication to Irving’s animals.

Capitan’s story is more sad than most. He was attacked by another dog before he came to us, and suffered some very serious injuries. His life was saved by the residents who reported the dog fight, our Animal Services Officers who stopped the fight and brought him to us, and our clinic staff who treated his injuries.

Now, Capitan’s injuries have healed with the exception of some scars and he is available for adoption! Capitan is heartworm positive, so he is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program for heartworm treatment.

For more information about Capitan, call us at 972-721-2256.

You haven’t met a snuggly cat until you’ve met Tiberius! This sweet guy loves pets and can't wait for his forever home🥰

Tiberius tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This causes him to have a weaker immune system and he may have a more difficult time fighting off infections like an Upper Respiratory Infection. Cats with FIV can still live long, happy lives.

For more information about Tiberius, call us at 972-721-2256.

Affordable Vaccinations and Wellness for Pets - No Appointment Required

Irving Animal Services has received several deceased cats that were reported to have died suddenly. Our veterinarian examined them and all have tested positive for Panleukopenia.

Panleukopenia is a highly contagious and deadly virus. Unvaccinated cats and kittens are the most susceptible. There is no cure, but animals who receive early treatment may survive.

Panleukopenia can be prevented with the FVRCP vaccine. Irving Animal Services encourages cat owners to get their cats vaccinated to protect them from this deadly virus. Low cost vaccinations will be available at the Irving Animal Care Campus on February 27th.

Love this sweet little girl. She is now known as Bella. Thank you for rescuing these fur babies.
Hello we are in Farmers Branch very close to Luna and Valley View at the Brickyard apartments and lost our sweet girl Bella on Thanksgiving. She is a brown/white tabby with white paws and chest and is microchipped through operation kindness and Valwood animal hospital in farmers Branch. She is 2 years old and 10 pounds Please message or post with any info. We have several setups to entice her with clothes with our scent, blankets and beds she loves, water, wet food, treats, and catnip toys. Thank for your help.
Found this pup please let me know if its a boy or girl and what color its collar is ..found near south Delaware and 6th street and its not chipped
A year ago we brought Everest (Caty at the shelter, the blonde) home, she was heartworm positive but was as sweet as can be. She immediately became apart of the family, her and our male Aspen are completely bonded, she’s amazing with our teen, toddler and infant. She’s officially heartworm negative and perfectly healthy, she’s the best addition to our family than we could have ever asked for.

In Feb 2013, I adopted my little Huny Buny from the Irving Animal Shelter. She was 9 years old and heart worm positive. Here she is still today in 2020, my sweet little girl. I am so grateful to the folks at the Irving Animal Shelter for assisting me in getting my little Angel. 💕❤️
Looking for Daisy we will be by tomorrow to see if she is there

There is this sweet cat that walked up to me? If anyone knows who she belongs too let me know.
We found 4 kittens 2 weeks ago in my neighbors storage closet on his patio. The mom was not around and so we took them in and have been bottle feeding them. They are about 4 weeks old and outgrowing their box we have them in. With 2 elderly dogs in a 2 bedroom apartment, we do not have room to keep these beautiful little bundles of joy. They are in the process of weaning from the bottle to can food. They need a foster home or a forever home that will have the room for them to be able to play and grow. They are healthy kittens with no sign of fleas or respiratory infections. They are a bit bigger than the pictures. I will post updated photos soon. Please contact me if interested.
Thanks to y’all our Miniature poodle Maya has a best friend for life. Adopted Lex on Thursday and has been great.
