Conveniently located on the outskirts of the city of Irving, this beautiful Nature Nirvana is a short drive from almost anywhere in DFW! Through lots of hard work, incredible creative vision, and the help of dedicated friends and family, owner Jim Widener has turned

this once illegal dump site into a much needed Wildlife Refuge and Outdoor Learning Center... right in the middle of Urban Sprawl! The gorgeous Hogbottoms' landscape consists of 140 acres of dense woodland, brilliantly colored pocket prairies, and rich wetlands that feed into the Trinity River Basin; each teeming with abundant and incredibly diverse flora and fauna. Our Wildlife Refuge and Outdoor Learning Center is open to groups of 20 or more, and is the perfect place for:
