The Dallas Producers Association shares the sad news of the passing of DPA Pioneer Award winner Rod Keitz on February 18, 2016.

From Don Stokes: "He and his business partner Larry Herndon opened K & H Productions one of Dallas' early production studios. They specialized in animation and visual effects but also provided full service production. Much of their work has been featured in past "IT CAME FROM DALLAS" productions and both were honored by the DPA as pioneers that helped build the film and video industry in North Texas. Many will remember the wonderful animated spots featuring the Dr. Pepper St. Bernard, Concession Stand promos, and the animation series "JOT". Rod was a true gentleman and provided jobs and growth opportunities for many."

Services will be at 2pm on Monday, February 29 at Northway Christian Church, 7202 Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225.

Spring 2015 Video Production Internships Available

Red Productions is looking for interns - Know someone trying to get their foot in the door in video or film production? We're looking for a few interns for next semester!

It's not the typical internship. The team at Red Productions caters to each individual to make certain there is always work available and that education is a priority. We never just "throw" an intern into the work environment without some sort of training or list of expectations. Each intern leaves our studio with a better understanding of what it means to work in the professional world; what it means to be a "filmmaker."

We have productions at all stages in the pipeline that involve a variety of tasks: concept development, script writing, location scouting, talent selection, crew scheduling, script coverage, vendor analysis, set design, lighting design, camera work, pulling selects, editing, animation, distribution, graphic design and more. So there are plenty of areas for opportunities to get involved and interns typically gain experience in each area.

We are looking for an account/producing intern, a crew/on-set inern, graphic design intern and story development/film development intern. If this is something you are interested in, please follow the link and get started!

The Texas film scene is very impressive, especially its film community. Throughout quarantine, I’ve kept update on the independent film by streaming it online. The platform Film Festival Flix has an array of independent films across all genres. Moreover, the site holds virtual film festivals. Last week I viewed the Ashland International Film Festival from the site. I’m looking forward to the site’s upcoming festivals as well. Besides the film festivals, I love the site’s selection of award-winning indie film.
