As we prepare to start another school year, we want to remind everyone of the law protecting our children when getting on and off the school bus.

In Irvington, on HWY 60, if a school bus is loading or unloading, traffic MUST STOP 🛑 IN BOTH DIRECTIONS, even though there is a turn lane between you and the unloading bus.

Our officers have been instructed to watch closely and issue citations to ANYONE violating this law.

We want to welcome our newest officer Johnny Drake.
Officer Drake served as a KSP dispatcher prior to joining us at IPD and his completion of DOCJT basic officer training.
Keep an eye out for him on patrol and welcome him to the community.

Last week our police department traveled to White Mills to be guests for their Forensic Science camp. Officers spoke about how science helps fight and solve crime on a regular basis.
