Abbott House

Abbott House Hope is Here. Our children and adolescents come from complex, often stressful environments that derail healthy development.

Abbott House builds lasting foundations for children, families, and adults with complex needs, and empowers them with opportunities for promising futures. Since 1963, Abbott House has built lasting foundations for children, adolescents and adults with complex needs throughout the Hudson Valley and New York metropolitan area. Our work builds durable foundations of skills and experiences that allow

them to thrive as individuals, and become future contributors to our community as they come of age. Our adults with developmental disabilities have capacities and strengths often overlooked by their environments. Our work is to identify and build on their strengths, to have them create a strong sense of home, relationship to community, and a personal sense of accomplishment and contribution to others. Our own foundations are constructed on the work of highly skilled staff, community and corporate volunteers, and incredibly generous donors - all with a steadfast commitment to building vibrant futures for our children and adults

Last week, golfers, supporters, sponsors, and friends came together for a beautiful (and very HOT!) day at Pelham Country Club, united by a shared commitment to advancing the mission of Abbott House.

From the first tee-off to the final putt, the day was filled with camaraderie, friendly competition, and inspiring moments that highlighted the strength of our community. Thanks to you, we raised almost $85,000 to help sustain vital programs and services for children, families, and adults with different abilities. Wow!

CONGRATULATIONS to our tournament winners: Alan Roth, Peter Bergen, Noah Skyen, and Brent Alexin who took home one-of-a-kind commemorative plates painted by kids in care.

A special thank you to major sponsors USI Insurance Services, Atlantic, Tomorrow's Office, Royal Comfort PKF O'Connor Davies Capital One and CAPTRUST—as well as our Golf Committee, tee and putting green sponsors, and staff volunteers for making this event so meaningful.

We're already excited for next year! 💚

Our Children’s Peace Garden is officially open for the season!

Students and teachers had an amazing time planting herbs, strawberries, a vibrant new rainbow garden, and adding pollinators to the bee sanctuary, making it a perfect haven for bees and butterflies. 🐝🦋

Thanks to support from Barbara Sarbin and Something Good in the World the garden continues to grow each year.

Because of the Children’s Peace Garden, kids in care will enjoy a summer filled with fun activities like feeding the birds, watering, watching and learning all about plants and how to grow vegetables. Plus, it’s also a great space to sit and relax and have a picnic lunch! 🌷

It’s official! Abbott House x Lyndhurst “Gilded Honey” is now on sale at the gift shop, just in time for the annual Flower House and Market!

Our Gilded Honey is a result of the Flower to Hive Project—a collaboration with Lyndhurst made possible by that gives children from Abbott House a unique, hands-on beekeeping experience with beekeeper Dennis John (DJ) Haverkamp. To learn more about this project, visit our website.

A portion of your purchase will support Abbott House and our 20+ programs and services for children, families, and adults with different abilities.

Our honey is a local blend harvested from bees at the Lyndhurst hives as well as select colonies across Westchester and Fairfield. We hope you enjoy!
