We have been made aware of “Senior Check Benefits” checks being mailed to individuals in Alabama. The "Senior Check Benefits" scam involves fraudulent, unsolicited checks mailed to seniors, often accompanied by letters promising insurance or government benefits to trick them into sharing personal bank details or paying fees. These checks are fake and designed to steal identity or money through aggressive sales tactics. Depositing the check could put you at risk of sharing your personal information. AL SMP 1-800-243-5463

This is a free service provided by the same agency that funds the Bayou La Batre Senior Center. The men and women in the SHIP department do not work for any insurance agency. They will not pick an insurance company for you, but they will help you understand your choices based on your information to help you get the best health insurance possible.
