Funeral services for Dave will be held at Mason-Gelder funeral home in Jeanette on Wednesday, July 29th.
Visitation will be from 2-4pm and again at 6pm with the Firemen’s service set to start at 7pm.

It is with heavy hearts that the members of the Shafton Volunteer Fire Department announce the passing of our brother firefighter, Dave Sauter.

Dave was more than a firefighter—he was a friend, a brother, a father, a husband, and a valued member of our fire department family. He was someone you could count on. His dedication to serving our community and his willingness to answer the call whenever needed will never be forgotten. The impact he made on those who had the privilege of knowing him will live on for years to come.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Dave’s family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched, during this incredibly difficult time.

Out of respect for the family’s privacy, we ask that everyone keep them in your thoughts and prayers. We will share information regarding services and arrangements as they become available and with the family’s permission.

Rest easy, Dave. Thank you for your service, your friendship, and your unwavering dedication to the department. Your watch is over—we’ll take it from here. Fly high my friend 🪽

🎉 We’re Back! 🎉

After jumping through more hoops than we ever imagined, we’re excited to announce that we’ve officially received the all clear and will be reopening tomorrow, Friday, July 3rd!

We want to sincerely thank everyone for your patience, understanding, and support while we worked through this unexpected situation.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back through our doors. Stop in, grab a drink, and help us celebrate being back open!

🚨🚨🚨Attention Social Club Members,

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to open for business today.

The Commonwealth has required that our social club be separated from the fire department and established as its own legal entity. As part of that process, our social club must undergo a name change. While we have been working diligently for weeks to complete all of the necessary requirements, the state has not yet finished updating the change across all of its systems (and, as many of us know, these processes don’t always move as quickly as we’d like!).

Until the name change is officially reflected on our liquor license—and matches our legal entity exactly—we are legally prohibited from opening for business.

We are actively working with state representatives and the appropriate agencies to help expedite this process and are hopeful that the issue will be resolved as quickly as possible.

We sincerely apologize for this unexpected inconvenience and appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support. We look forward to welcoming everyone back as soon as we are legally able to reopen.
