🏈 Celebrating 20 Years! 🏆

In November 2006, the IKM Hawks beat the Wapsie Valley Warriors, 33-13 to win the Class A state tournament.

IKM-Manning would like to recognize the 2006 IKM Championship Football Team on Friday, September 11, during our home football game vs. South Central Calhoun.

🐺 Members of the 2006 team will receive FREE admission to the game and will be recognized on the field before kickoff!

📍 Meet at the north end of the track
⏰ Arrive by 6:35 PM
🏈 Recognition at 6:45 PM

A reminder that the dumpster at the Community Building is FOR CITY USE ONLY and is not a public disposal site.

Please DO NOT use the dumpster for cardboard boxes, yard waste, or household items such as clothing, fans, suitcases, TVs, furniture, etc.

Need to dispose of these items?

—> Yard waste can be taken to the City Dump located on the east side of town.
—> Household items can be taken to the Shelby County Landfill or contact R&S Waste to arrange pick up. 

We ask everyone to please respect this restriction. We do not want to have to take additional enforcement measures to prevent unauthorized use.

🌟 Meet the Council 🌟

This week, we’re featuring Council Member Greg Gaer!

Greg has served on the Irwin City Council for five years and works in construction. His time on the Council began when a seat became open mid-term and he was asked to step in and fill the position.

What Greg enjoys most about serving on the Council is having the opportunity to make decisions that positively impact the community. Looking toward Irwin’s future, one of his goals is to see continued improvements throughout town, including having a nice park for residents and families to enjoy.

When asked what he appreciates most about the Irwin community, Greg highlighted something that makes small towns so special — the way people come together to support one another.

A few fun facts about Greg:

🔨 He works in construction.
🍀 He collects Irwin memorabilia and items.
❤️ His favorite way to spend his free time is being with his wife, Tanya.

Greg grew up right here in Irwin, graduated from IKM in 1992, and chose to raise his own family here as well. His connection to Irwin spans generations, and he continues to give back to the community he has always called home.
