Earlier this week, our district office staff gathered to celebrate Dr. Chiquita Geter's impending retirement after 30 wonderful years in education! In her most recent role as PEC Director, Dr. C. has supported countless students, built lasting relationships with parents and families, and supported numerous teachers across Warrior Nation.

Her knowledge, caring nature, and superb professionalism will certainly be missed throughout our hallways! Retirement is not the end of the road, but the beginning of an open highway and Dr. C., we have no doubt that you're ready for that highway and its adventures! It's never too late to show acknowledgment or celebrate! In this case, our gratitude is right on time. We celebrate all the incredible fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, uncles, mentors, and father figures who inspire, support, and guide our students each day.

Your love, strength, wisdom, and dedication help shape the future of our children and strengthen our community. Thank you for being positive role models and making a lasting difference both at home and in our schools.

There are moments when words never seem enough.

Today is one of those days.

Our Warrior family is grieving alongside members of our community who have experienced unimaginable loss. Though school is not in session, our hearts remain connected, and we mourn together as neighbors, friends, classmates, and family.

We ask our entire community to surround these families with love, prayer, grace, and support in the days ahead. May they find strength in knowing they are not alone and that an entire community stands with them.

The School Climate Rating, a component of our CCRPI, is based on several key indicators that measure the overall health and culture of a school district, including:

Earlier this week, we held our 2026 New Employee Orientation and Onboarding session. Special thanks to our district office staff for hosting the newest team members, as well as our admin staff and others who shared vital information, insights, and essential steps.

These fresh faces are bringing energy, talent, and a shared commitment to our students and families. From the classroom and beyond, we’re excited about the impact this new group will have across Wilkinson County Schools.
