Isanti Fire District

Isanti Fire District We currently have 27 men and women working as paid-on-call firefighters within our department. The joint powers agreement has proven to be a great success.

On December 28, 2005, the Isanti Fire Department went through some changes, which resulted in the transformation into the Isanti Area Joint Operating Fire District, or the Isanti Fire District. The Isanti Fire District is operated by each of the entities that are serviced. 6 Townships and the City of Isanti have 1 person from their council attend board meetings, where together they make the decisions that maintain our operations.

NEW MINNESOTA LAW: YOU MUST STOP WHEN SCHOOL BUS RED LIGHTS FLASH 🚨

There’s a major update to school bus safety laws that every driver needs to know — and it closes a loophole that caused confusion for years.
Under the updated law, drivers are now required to stop immediately when a school bus’s red lights begin flashing.
It no longer matters if the stop arm is fully extended.
That means if you see red lights flashing — you stop. Period.
Here’s what drivers are required to do:
• Stop at least 20 feet away from the bus
• Remain stopped until the red lights stop flashing AND the stop arm is fully retracted
This applies to traffic in both directions unless there is a physical barrier separating the roadway.
Drivers should also be aware:
• Flashing yellow/amber lights mean slow down and prepare to stop
• Passing a stopped school bus can result in criminal charges, especially if a child is put at risk
This change was made to protect children and eliminate any hesitation or confusion for drivers.
Bottom line — if the red lights are flashing, you stop. No exceptions.

We’re thankful for this crew! Taking time out of their day jobs to go visit the State Capitol for Fire Service Day is wonderful. They met with legislators to talk about current trends and needs of the fire service.

šŸ¤ šŸ”„ Saddle Up for a Cause at the 50th Annual Isanti Firefighters Rodeo! šŸ”„šŸ¤

The Isanti Firefighters are proud to ride alongside Ronald McDonald House Charities Upper Midwest this year—collecting pop tabs to support families when they need it most.

For decades, Ronald McDonald House has been a true home away from home, helping families stay close to their seriously ill or injured children. In 2025 alone, they provided lodging, meals, and support to over 5,600 families across Minnesota. That’s real cowboy-kindness right there. ā¤ļø

So dust off those cans and start saving your tabs now!
Bring ’em with you and drop ’em in the collection bins on the rodeo grounds:

Every tab may be small—but together, they make a big impact. Let’s show what this community is made of. šŸ¤

See you at the rodeo. And don’t forget your tabs, partner. šŸŽāœØ
