Hi, Folks,

We were closed this morning due to construction. We're in the library now, so if you have books to bring by or books to check out, I'll be here until 1 today.

My apologies for any confusion or inconvenience.

Hi, Folks. It's Thursday morning, and I'm here to apologize.

The library is closed this morning as we have contractors in the building. I made a command decision that it is too loud in the building to count as a proper library right now (and, I admit, your friendly library is noise averse!). We are hoping the work will be done this morning and we'll open for a couple hours later today.

I will let you know as soon as I know.

I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

We have a good bunch of new books coming in over the next several days. These just arrived!

Shaw Connolly Lives to Tell: Paul Doiron says, "Shaw Connolly Lives to Tell got its hooks into me from the very first page...Perfect in its ice-cold dread."

A Persistent Echo: "Brian Kaufman has woven a tale of friendship, betrayal, and hope. His descriptions of setting and mood are spot on." Karen Brees, author of Crosswind

If Walls Could Talk: "Perfect for fans of Kate Morton, Lucinda Riley, and Diana Gabaldon, this evocative time-slip novel weaves past and present into an unforgettable story of love, secrets, and resilience that will stay with you long after the final page."

We Can't Save You: Anne Lamott, author of Bird by Bird says, "Riveting and beautifully written. FBI agent, Ryan Tapia, alone in the Bangor office -- grief struck, watchful, and meticulous -- heads up a marvelous cast."

It's your curious librarian again.

Thank you for answering my last question about things you'd like to have access to.

Now, I hope you'll help me narrow it down a little more. We're thinking about bringing a Library of Things to Katahdin Public Library, and while we may be able to hold a couple larger items like metal detectors, and longer pruning tools, we generally have space for smaller items. Some things that other rural libraries carry:

sewing machines
crock pots or an Instant Pot
gardening equipment
automotive code readers
stud finders
power drills and tools
dvd players

Can you think of other things that might fit on shelves?

What's something, a household item, yard tool, or piece of electronic equipment that you wish you could borrow for a few days and return...something you may not want to buy or simply can't afford right now?

Your curious librarian wants to know.

Hello!

- Need a place to sit and work on your laptop?

- Need a printer? A copier? A laminator? A computer?

- Need a spot to sit and read, draw, listen to a podcast, or play a game on your Ipad (with ear buds or headphones)?

- Need a table to sit at while you share your sketches, rough drafts, or blueprints with a friend?

- Want to host a bookclub, poetry reading, drawing group, or some other thing?

Come visit the library. We're more than just a book repository, and we're always happy to see folks.
