Reader Services Book Recommendation of the Week: The Book of Doors by Gareth Brown

Bookseller Cassie is given an unusual book by her favorite customer. There is a handwritten message to Cassie, telling her that this is The Book of Doors, and that any door is every door. She discovers the book has extraordinary powers and she and her best friend Izzy are swept away by the possibilities of travelling to anywhere. Then, Cassie and Izzy are confronted by violence and danger, because there is a nameless evil out there that is hunting them...Because some doors should never be opened.

The library is Open for business again……!
The bees are busy in our garden, and the fantastic IH Library staff are just as busy inside, setting things to rights as Phase One of our renovation has been completed -
The carpet has been replaced and the new floor in the bathroom and hallway is in!! And the fresh paint inside looks terrific but is a “ work in progress”, so please pardon our appearance as the “ refresh” moves forward….

Last night our Book Club voted an unprecedented and unanimous 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️for The Calamity Club!!!!

The Island Heights Branch will be closed from Monday, August 24 through Sunday, August 30 for the installation of a new carpet. It will resume its regular operating hours Monday, August 31.
