Island Lake Emergency Management Agency - EMA Island Lake Emergency Management Agency (EMA), is a volunteer group dedicated to helping the citizens of Island Lake in times of emergency or crisis.

Island Lake EMA volunteers work with local officials, police and fire departments when called upon to assist in activities to protect the citizens and the village of Island Lake itself. This may include storm damage, road closures or traffic control, community events and any other time the Village and its departments "needs a hand". We will also assist other local communities if requested. We meet

once each month at the Village Hall, typically on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. But we take a break during the holidays and summer months. The rest of the year, we train on activities that can save lives such as CPR/AED certification, storm tracking and response, as well as using machinery that might be needed to perform our duties. Most of all, it's a fun group of other people from town who love to pitch in and help their neighbors when an emergency arises.
