What a perfect night for our Centennial Fireworks Celebration on Masone Beach last evening!
Mayor Michael McGinty, Deputy Mayor Matthew Graci, and Trustees Barbara Volpe-Ried and Michael Gagliardi welcomed Andy Cooney and His Band, who entertained the massive crowd with a wonderful variety of music that had our neighbors dancing, singing, and enjoying the evening together.
The National Anthem was performed, and as the final note rang out, the fireworks began with perfect timing. It was the longest fireworks show we have ever brought to the Island Park community, and it was truly spectacular. Adding to the celebration was a special illuminated “IP 100” silhouette over Island Park Harbor, commemorating 100 years of our Village.
We were also happy to welcome Boy Scout Troop 215, who were on hand fundraising for their Troop.
A sincere thank you to the Island Park Fire Department, Nassau County Police Department, and our Village workforce for their tremendous work in helping make this major community event safe, successful, and enjoyable for everyone.
What a beautiful night celebrating 100 years of Island Park! Our Labor Day weekend tradition was bigger and better than ever.
