Please join us for the Gone Guys screening and discussion. We can't wait to watch, listen, and think. The film focuses on rural Vermont, and the topic really is one that impacts all of us. Learn more about it at https://goneguysfilm.com/ - or just come and spend an evening with us!

We're very thankful to our community for enjoying our story walks - or at least letting them line the walking path without bothering them. Knowing someone decided to rip out one of the boards and throw it into the lake is sad, but we'll keep doing it because words matter. Actions also matter; it takes all of us to make sure we continue to enjoy park equipment and other benefits. A BIG thanks to the Brighton Recreation Director who fished our board out!!!!

Excellent news and progress. Please keep conserving and limiting non-essential water use! There is still a Boil Water Notice: Bring water to a full rolling boil for at least one minute, let cool completely, then use for cooking, rinsing produce, brushing teeth, watering pets, etc. It's a minor inconvenience in the big picture, not a catastrophe.

Please conserve water!

‼️IMPORTANT‼️Brighton water customers: PLEASE CONSERVE WATER AND LIMIT NON-ESSENTIAL CONSUMPTION UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

The long version: Yes, the water IS safe to drink. The Town operates two water treatment plants, each with its own reservoir. The south reservoir has a leak and multiple attempts to repair have not been successful. It's 100 years old and has never had a liner... Adding that now is the safest and most cost-effective way to address the situation. While this is happening, we have to rely solely on the north plant. It's capable of servicing the entire town BUT with the south plant down, it adds significant stress to the system and to our water operators. Anything we can do as a community to alleviate that stress is greatly appreciated. We'll let you know when we're fully back on line, so you can go back to washing your cars and watering your gardens. Check back here and/or our website for updates. Thank you, Brighton!!!!

Calm down, New Hampshire. We also have world-class granite! The library has a pass to the Vermont Granite Museum that you can check out for day use. It allows your party to visit for FREE and explore the fascinating, interactive displays. (Katie will be checking it out first to make sure it's legit... and because she's a nerd who likes this kind of stuff 😉 ). Stop by if you're interested or have questions, and be sure to visit https://www.vtgranitemuseum.org/
