Thank you to all of the volunteers who joined us at Wing Elementary School for our annual Community Reader Day! We are so grateful to the community members who took time out of their day to help promote the importance of literacy throughout our Wing classrooms. Visitors spent the morning in our Pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade classrooms, sharing a special book with our students and helping to inspire a love of reading.

This year, we invite our families to join us for Books Before Bedtime at Wing Elementary School on Wednesday, March 11, from 5:00–7:00 PM.

As a special bonus, Wednesday will also be a building-wide Pajama Day! Students are invited to wear their pajamas to school and are welcome to bring their favorite stuffy to our evening event.

During this family-fun event, all students who attend will be entered into a raffle to win a book and matching stuffy!

Families will also enjoy Bingo, visits from local authors and artists, our Book Swap, a photo booth, staff read-alouds, and more.

We look forward to seeing you at this special event!

PARP kicked off last week, and our students are already off to a fantastic start!

Take a look at these reading totals—our readers have been busy turning pages and working hard to meet their challenge. As a school, students are aiming to read 75,000 minutes or more so they can earn the opportunity to vote on the Principal’s Challenge!

We are so proud of the excitement and dedication our students are showing as they read at home and at school. Keep those minutes coming and let’s see if we can meet (or even exceed) our goal!

A big thank you to our Islip Middle School Book Buddies for joining us again this year to celebrate PARP!

Our Wing students loved spending time reading, learning, and connecting with the amazing IMS Student Government leaders. It was wonderful to see our younger readers so engaged and inspired by their middle school role models.

We truly appreciate your partnership and the positive example you set for our students. We look forward to continuing this special tradition!

Our students bundled up, braved the flakes, and still showed up ready to celebrate the 100th Day of School in style! From creative 100th-day outfits to big smiles and even bigger learning milestones, nothing could stop the excitement.
