Volunteering opportunity!

The annual Issaquah Culture Fest event is on September 18, 2026, on the lawn outside of the Issaquah Community Center. Join us as a volunteer to celebrate our rich cultures from around the world.
Volunteers ages 12+ who can work unsupervised are welcome.

**PEOPLE’S CHOICE WINNER!**

The people have spoken—and they chose the Eastside Sketch Society as the winner of the People’s Choice Award for the Al Fresco on Front Pop-Up Parks!

Their Hope Core Mini Maker’s Space transformed a parking spot into a cozy outdoor space where creativity, connection, and a little imagination took center stage.

A huge thank-you to Eastside Sketch Society for bringing their creative energy to Front Street—and to everyone who stopped by, cast a vote, and helped make the Pop-Up Parks such a fun part of Al Fresco on Front.

Eastside Sketch Society. You proved that sometimes the best way to transform a parking spot is to fill it with a little art, a lot of creativity, and a whole bunch of community.

Stroll along!

The Downtown Issaquah Association celebrates its latest Story Stroll™ “edutainment” program along with the Issaquah Library with the fanciful, heartwarming book “Watercress” written by Andrea Wange and illustrated by Jason Chin.

The Story Stroll™ features a story about the power of sharing memories; including the painful ones; and the way our heritage stays with and shapes us, even when we don’t see it.

Each page will be displayed prominently in business windows along Front Street starting at the Library from September 5 through October 3.

Say Hi to an Issaquah Legend!
If you’re downtown for Al Fresco on Front today, stop by Fischer Meats and say hello to Chris, who owned and operated this beloved Issaquah institution for more than 40 years!
Chris is behind the counter today, filling in while the current owners are away—and we couldn’t think of a better reason to stop in, say hi, and hear a story or two from someone who has been part of the fabric of downtown Issaquah for decades.

Historically Hip is bringing a little more hope to downtown with three creative Park Up Parks, all inspired by the theme Hope Core:
A Balance Garden
A Mini Maker’s Space
A Flower Garden
