We recently attended a session highlighting masonry walls. We explored masonry strength and construction techniques, focusing on practical detailing choices that can impact function and project budgets. We also explored real-world case studies that showcased how advancements in codes, standards, practices, and technologies are shaping the industry and delivering measurable benefits to projects. It was a valuable session packed with knowledge!

🏗️ Progress update at Lyons Township High School D204 from this morning:
✨ Cafeteria highlights include a dynamic learning stair for presentations and large gatherings, a second-floor drop-in center for tutoring and collaboration, a café under the learning stair, and a revamped serving line.
🎶 Music wing upgrades feature acoustically treated rooms designed to accommodate large class sizes, ensuring the best sound quality for future performances.
These updates are all about fostering creativity, collaboration, and connection.

Our 2025 THINK [about architecture] Scholarship season has come to a close, but not before thoughtful deliberation! We awarded 17 school-level scholarships to outstanding students from 33 schools encompassing two states. These students shared how their learning environments shaped their educational experiences.

Additionally, we recognized two top winners for their creativity, originality, and thoughtful reflections on built environments. Lauren Ascolani won first place & Quin Holland won second place.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to ALL recipients and express our gratitude for their inspiring submissions. This year's entries reaffirmed how architecture profoundly influences our learning experiences.

The discussion provided a comprehensive overview of key components, including panel construction, suspension systems, sealing mechanisms, and options for design customization. We explored innovative automation features designed to simplify operation and enhance efficiency, as well as safety best practices aimed at optimizing space management and promoting user well-being. Additionally, the session presented a variety of design possibilities for creating functional, customized walls tailored to meet the unique needs of our projects.
