Springbrook Nature Center Founded in 1980, the Springbrook Nature Center programs and events are organized by the Itasca Park District. The property is owned by Village of Itasca.

Do you have a bin of random LEGO pieces collecting dust at home?

The Nature Center is looking for donations of loose LEGO bricks and pieces for upcoming children's programs and creative building projects. We can give those extra LEGOs a new life in the hands of young builders!

If you're cleaning out closets, organizing playrooms, or simply have LEGOs you no longer need, we'd be grateful for your donation.

Donations can be dropped off at Springbrook Nature Center, 130 Forest Ave., Itasca.

Thank you for helping us inspire creativity, imagination, and hands-on learning in our community!

This hands-on class provides all materials and step-by-step instruction, making it a great way to unwind, get creative, and enjoy a night out with friends. Nature’s magic is happening in our butterfly garden! The monarch caterpillars are happily munching away on the milkweed, growing a little more each day.

Fun fact: As they eat milkweed, monarch caterpillars store the plant’s natural toxins in their bodies. This makes them taste bad to many predators and helps protect them throughout their lives, even after they become butterflies!
