Itasca Park District Social Media Comment Policy
Prohibited Content: The following types of comments are not allowed on our social media pages and are subject to removal and/or restriction by the Administrator or designated staff at any time without notice:
Irrelevant Comments: Comments unrelated to the original post or nonsensical. Discriminatory Comments: Content that promotes discrimination b
ased on race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, national origin, or other protected class. Commercial Solicitation: Advertising or promoting a business or product for sale. Illegal Conduct: Comments that violate any federal, state, or local laws or encourage illegal activities. Compromising Safety: Information that may compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems. Intellectual Property Violations: Content that infringes upon copyrights, trademarks, or other legal ownership interests. Malware: Spam, links to malware, or viruses. Disclaimer of Endorsement: Comments posted by the public on our social media sites represent the views of the individual commenter and do not imply endorsement by the Itasca Park District. They do not necessarily reflect the views or policies of the Park District. Access Restrictions: The Park District reserves the right to deny access to our social media pages to anyone who violates this policy, at any time and without prior notice. Monitoring Policy: Our sites are monitored for comments requiring responses and for comments that violate our policy. However, our social media sites are not monitored 24/7. Responses and moderation may not be immediate. Platform Compliance: All comments on our Facebook site are also subject to Facebook’s terms of service, including their Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, which can be found at Facebook Terms. Privacy Warning: Users posting private or personal information do so at their own risk. The Park District is not responsible for any harm resulting from the public display of, or the failure to remove, private information. Public Records: Content posted on our social media may be subject to disclosure under the Illinois Freedom of
Information Act and retention under the Local Records Act. Policy Amendments: This policy is subject to change at any time without notice.
