Tompkins County Minimum Wage Convening: Ithaca Workers (Hybrid)
Thursday, May 21, 2026 | 6:00 PM
Tompkins County Public Library, 101 East Green St, Ithaca
Come learn, share perspectives, and help shape the conversation.
This session will include low-wage workers and representatives of unions and the Tompkins County Workers' Center. This convening is part of a broader effort to bring together workers, employers, community organizations, researchers, and policymakers to better understand the economic realities facing Tompkins County residents. We welcome anyone interested in labor, economic policy, community well-being, and fair wages to participate.
Depending on the level of increase, the wages of many thousands of workers could be increased by a countywide minimum wage. Increased income could help them avoid or cope better with crises related to health, housing, and transportation, support their families better, and spend more at local businesses. It may also make it easier for them to be productive workers. How would a countywide minimum wage affect workers, in and out of work?
