The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch until 11:00 PM, Wednesday Sep 2, and a Flood Watch effective through Thursday Morning, for Tompkins County and many other surrounding counties. There is an enhanced risk for severe thunderstorms this evening with a possibility of damaging winds, hail, flash flooding, or tornadoes.

Remember:
Monitor weather forecasts and be ready to act quickly.
Never drive through flooded roods. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Turn around, don't drown!
Never approach downed wires. Assume all wires are live and call 9-1-1.
In the event of a tornado, move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.

Danby Fire Company is proud to once again partner with South Hill Elementary and the South Hill Elementary PTA to support the success of our young learners in the Danby community through a donation of backpacks, water bottles and headphones.

Just a reminder of the Food Sharing Cabinet at the Fire Station. “Take what you need, leave what you can”.

Please consider donating shelf stable food (cereal, PB&J, tuna, juice, soup, etc) and household items (toilet paper, paper towels, toiletries) to community members in need as prices rise. No expired items, please. And if you are in need, please stop by!

The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Southeastern Tompkins County until 2:45 PM.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

There is a Heat Advisory in effect for tomorrow and an Extreme Heat Watch in place for Wednesday through Friday covering Tompkins County & Danby.
