Attention Tompkins County Voters!
Many of you may receive mailings this year with applications for Early Mail Ballots. The Board of Elections never sends apllication forms unless they are requested by a voter. This mailing is not from us, but from a group called the Voter Participation Center. They are a non-partisan group whose intentions seem to be to increase voter turnout. We want voters to know that they do not need to apply for an early mail ballot unless they wish to. Voters are encouraged to contact the Board of Elections if they believe they already have an absentee application, or if they have any questions. Any voter with an active application for an absentee or early mail ballot will not be able to vote on the machine on Election Day, but will need to vote by affidavit ballot if they have not yet voted their absentee or early mail ballot. If anyone has any questions about Absentee or Early Mail voting, please contact the Board of Elections at (607) 274-5522 or email us at [email protected].
