INHS participated in the Ithaca Festival Parade last night, and what fun we had!

This year’s disco theme had us “Doing the Housing Hustle," celebrating our work and proudly “Hustlin’ since 1976.”

The energy from the crowd was incredible! We had such a fun, supportive community cheering us on every step of the way.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff, families, and board members who joined in and made the day unforgettable—we couldn’t have done it without you!

Access to safe, stable housing is the foundation of strong communities. During NeighborWorks Weeks, NeighborWorks America and its partners, including INHS, are highlighting the power of investment in housing and economic development.

“INHS made an overdue American dream possible,” said first-time homebuyer Magnolia.

We’re working to create homes and build our community, every day.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re proud to highlight Executive Director Kate de la Garza’s candid conversation with NeighborWorks America.

We're grateful to have a leader who leads with honesty, empathy, and openness.

We hope you’ll take a moment to read this interview — it offers a meaningful look at who INHS is at its core and the values that guide our work every day.

Some conversations are difficult, but they’re necessary.

In this powerful reflection, Kate de la Garza shares why affordable housing and community development work requires honesty, empathy, and the willingness to address hard truths head-on.

Real progress happens when communities create space for challenging conversations, listen deeply, and work together toward solutions that put people first.

Wow! We are so grateful for the dedicated folks who rolled up their sleeves to join us for our Volunteer Cleanup Day. We exceeded our goal of logging 50 volunteer hours to celebrate INHS’s 50th Anniversary Year! Our crew of volunteers beautified seven community sites across Ithaca and Trumansburg.

Donors, partners, clients, neighbors, and INHS employees and board members weeded, trimmed, removed litter, and planted colorful flowers. Thank you to ALL of our amazing volunteers for helping to beautify our neighborhoods and build community.

A special thanks to our partner organizations HOLT Architects, Cornell University Community Relations, Tompkins Community Bank, Community Bank, N.A., Insero Advisors, Tioga State Bank, and Alternatives Federal Credit Union, who generously shared their staff with us for the day.

Stay tuned for more INHS Anniversary events! 🎉
