Ithaca City School District The Ithaca City School District engages, educates, and empowers over 4000 students. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The ICSD expects that users will treat each other with respect, courtesy, and professionalism. The district social media accounts are regularly monitored by district staff from 8 a.m. While public comments are welcome and encouraged, they must adhere to the community guidelines. Please be advised that any inappropriate content will be removed immediately. Inappropriate content includes:
- An adver

tisement for a commercial business, products, or events unrelated to the ICSD
- Slanderous, inflammatory, or defamatory comments
- Incorrect information
- Information that violates student privacy under FERPA
- Comments or posts that constitute discrimination or harassment
- Comments or posts pertaining to violence or threat of violence
- Comments or posts pertaining to political activity
- Comments or posts that are not respectful
- Comments or posts that are not relevant to the topic
- Comments or posts from an individual who is misrepresenting themself
- Comments or posts that are obscene, libelous, or so incites students as to create a clear and present danger of the commission of unlawful acts on school premises, violation of school rules, or substantial disruption of the school’s orderly operation
- Comments that encourage others to break the law (this includes respecting privacy, intellectual property, and publication rights)
- Comments or posts that lack relation to the site’s purpose or violation of district policies, regulations, or content guidelines, such as promoting a business or campaigning

By commenting or posting to any district social media pages, you agree not to:
- Violate any of the community guidelines listed above
- Include personal information such as student identification numbers, Social Security numbers, personal contact information such as addresses or phone numbers, or driver’s license numbers (if you choose to post your own contact information, be aware that your name and that information will be available to the public and subject to misuse)
- Engage in spam, such as posting chain letters or the same comment multiple times
- Allow other individuals or entities to use your identification for posting or viewing comments
Comment under multiple names or use another person’s name

The ICSD reserves the right to:
- Remove or hide comments that violate the community guidelines
- Ban individuals who repeatedly violate the district’s community guidelines
- Amend the community guidelines to address issues that arise or changes in operations or the law

This spring, students across the district participated in a range of performances that highlighted creativity, collaboration, and student voice. Ithaca High School presented 9 to 5; Lehman Alternative Community School shared the original climate-focused performance Above, Of, In, and Below Cayuga Waters, written by Annemarie Zwack in collaboration with LACS students; DeWitt Middle School performed My Fellow Students; and Boynton Middle School brought No Substitutes to the stage.

Last week, Caroline fourth graders released the trout they raised in their classroom into Six Mile Creek! 🐟

As part of the Trout in the Classroom program, students across our elementary schools participate in this meaningful hands-on learning experience, caring for trout from fall through spring while building connections to science, ecosystems, and environmental stewardship.

The Board of Education will hold a Monthly Voting Meeting this evening at 6 p.m. The board anticipates entering into an executive session at the beginning of the May 26 meeting for approximately 30 minutes. The public session will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The meeting will take place at the ICSD Board Building, 400 Lake Street. It can be attended either in person or via Zoom.
