🏥 Last evening Sheriff Clark and members of the Sheriff’s Office attended the Health and Safety Fair in Alma 🫆

Our table was joined by members of the St Louis Police Department, and the Department of Natural Resources! 🎣

This community event was aimed at providing information to those in our community about different health and safety resources available to them and providing easier access to them!

During the event Dep. Bouck demonstrated the public safety benefits of our Drone program, and K9 Maverick showed his prowess as a locating tool for our county 🐾

It ended with a simulated vehicle crash scenario which showed how all the county’s public safety services (Dispatch, Police, Fire and EMS) all work together to provide for the health of safety of our great county 💥

We have been made aware of a scam dealing with a house for sale at 4390 W. Seaman Rd. Alma. Aaron Bryan is posting this house on multiple sites saying that it is for rent. Subject is collecting money from people before letting them go and see the house. The Subject once paid and papers are filled out is blocking the individuals. He is using a fictitious phone number as well, 448-204-6245. If you have been scammed, please contact Central Dispatch, 989-875-7505, and report it. Thank you.

💐 With this years Gratiot Area Youth Police Academy over it’s time to give some people their flowers 💐

Thank you to everyone who helped make this years Academy everything that it was!

Mr. Phil Maxwell from Saint Louis High School's wood shop for creating the Top Shot, Top Scholar, and Warrior Mindset challenge coins 🥇

Mancino’s, ZFS, The Hearthstone Oven, The Gathering Hub, RIC’s, & Ithaca Church of God for providing breakfast and lunch 🥪

All donations to the Youth Police Academy from many companies and individuals, both direct donations and through the Sheriff’s golf outing ⛳️

Ithaca Public Schools for allowing the use of their facilities and transportation 🚌

All the instructors (Ofc. Mueller – APD, Ofc. Schiller – DNR, and all other instructors that presented) 🧑‍🏫

We were happy to hand out safety material at Walmart today! We handed out free gun locks, coloring books, frisbees, wristbands, car safety kits, and several books pertaining to 100's of real life situations. We answered alot of questions in regards to Walmart's June Safety month community outreach event.

Just like that the 2026 Gratiot Area Youth Police Academy Cadets have graduated!

After a long week the Academy ended with a multitude of tests, culminating in graduation and a multitude of awards! 🏆

The awards were for “Warrior Mindset”, “Top Scholar”, “K9 Athlete”, “Top Shot”, and “Top Cadet”. Congratulations to our Cadets!

Finally a shoutout and thank you to the Ithaca Church of God for cooking breakfast for our Cadets! 🥞

🚑 Day 4 had the cadets hearts racing 🚑

Today the Cadets worked on their marching before speaking with MMR about life on an ambulance! Then they got to work on CPR and see a Lucas Machine in action!

Cadets then had a walk through of the jail and court house! 👩‍⚖️

What a great week, and it all wraps up tomorrow for graduation!
