On May 8th, 2026 at approximately 8:30 pm deputies were conducting a safety checkpoint on County Road 169 near County Road 166. At that time deputies observed a Honda Accord approaching them South bound on County Road 169. The operator of the vehicle would slam on its brakes and quickly swerve the vehicle halfway off the roadway before coming to a stop approximately 40 yards from the deputies. Another vehicle also travelling South bound would slam on its breaks behind it almost striking the Accord. Deputies then demanded the operator of the Accord to approach them, and pull off of the roadway. As the operator of the Accord pulled off of the roadway, he would strike a patrol vehicle sitting stationary with blue lights flashing. The operator would be identified as Mr. Jacob Earl Hill of Paden. Deputies then walked down the roadway to where Mr. Hill had stopped. Deputies would retrieve a plastic bag that had been thrown into the ditch. Inside of the plastic bag would be another plastic baggy that contained approximately 29 grams of suspected M**hamphetamine, and a smaller plastic baggy that contained approximately 4 grams of suspected Co***ne. Inside of the Accord, one dosage unit of Oxycodone would also be retrieved. Mr. Hill was arrested and charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule II (M**hamphetamine 10-30 Grams), Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule II (Co***ne 2-10 Grams), Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule II (Less that 2 Dosage Units), and several misdemeanor traffic violations. Mr. Hill’s bond would be set at $40,000 by Judge Seth Adams.
