Ivanhoe was packed full of people and events throughout the weekend for its annual Polish Days celebration.

The baseball and bean bag tournaments on Thursday night got things started, followed by the golf tournament and start of softball on Friday. There were pool activities daily, and lots of good food and drinks!

Saturday was the 5k and kid fun run, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, volleyball, puzzling, and of course, more softball. There was also a street dance and fireworks! Sunday wrapped up with the parade, kid activities - including the pedal pull, face painting and water fights, and the tractor pull throughout the afternoon.

What a great weekend for all things Polish!

National Night Out around Lincoln County!

This is always such a great way for the community to meet and interact with our local EMS and first responders, and for kids to learn about how these agencies all work together.

Members of local law enforcement, ambulance, fire, and first responder crews, as well as state and city agencies were out in Lake Benton, Ivanhoe, Hendricks, and Tyler on Tuesday night to share all about what they do to keep their communities safe. Attendees were also treated to games, goodies and other activities.

We appreciate the local clubs, chambers, city personnel, and emergency crews that put this on each year. A good time was had by all!

After getting some much needed rain, everyone was in a good mood at the Lincoln County Fair. Animals, 4H exhibits, food, music and entertainment provided lots of options for fair goers. Nice attendance, especially for the 4H Auction, Kids Pedal Pull and the Sunday afternoon Demo Derby. Great weather, good crowds and lots of activities made for another memorable event. We appreciate the work of the Fair Board and everyone that helped to make it so enjoyable. See you there next year!

This morning, Sheriff Bushman and other members of the Sheriff’s Office, met with kids in Ivanhoe to talk about bike safety and etiquette. They discussed the importance of wearing a helmet and following the rules of the road, as well as bike maintenance and proper signaling.

Katie Garner demonstrated how to signal for turns and stops, and talked about being aware of various surroundings while out and about. The kids were then able to practice what they learned on a couple different courses in the parking lot.

All kids were given new helmets and bike safety packets. Thanks for coming out this morning! It was a great turnout!
