Even though the Jefferson County portion of the trail has been done and open for a few weeks already, Waukesha County has finished their portion and is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony this week Thursday at 6 pm. 🎉🚲🛴🏃🏻‍♂️

🚲 12.5 MILES OF NEW TRAIL! 🎉

A BIG new addition to our local trail system is ready to celebrate! 🌳🚴‍♀️

Join the community for the Lake Country & Jefferson County Interurban Trail Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, September 3 at 6 PM in Oconomowoc.

The celebration marks the completion of Jefferson County’s Interurban Trail and the final western segment of Waukesha County’s Lake Country Trail, creating a combined 12.5 miles of NEW trail from Watertown to Oconomowoc! 🙌

And the best part? After the ceremony, you’re invited to bring your bikes, rollerblades, or just yourselves and explore the trail! 🚲🛼🥾

Most of our local schools are back in session. Watch for busses and flashing lights!

With the new school year about to begin, keep safety in mind around bus stops.

✅ Kids should be waiting at least 10 feet from the bus .
✅ Drivers must stop at least 20 feet from a school bus with flashing red warning lights.
✅ Stay alert, particularly in school zones and near bus stops.
