Congratulations Ross! The Jackson Center Fire Department is honored to reward students with scholarships each year to help with college expenses. Ross’s family has a long history of service with the department. His great grandfather, Carl served 40 years. His grandfather Ron, is still going strong and serving as my Deputy Chief with 42 years. Ross’s uncle Craig, served 6 years and Ross’s dad, Ryan is currently serving with 7 years. The tradition is so important to the Ludwig family, that Ross has recently joined the department.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends, and colleagues of Town & Country Fire District, Lt. Philip Wigal who died in the line of duty yesterday after he was struck by a vehicle while working and accident scene.

We operate on interstate 75 very frequently. While we always take every precaution we can, all drivers have to do their part. Put down your phones, turn down your radios, and move over for flashing lights.

Rest In Peace Lieutenant

If you see this discoloration on your vent or the neighbors vent please notify your local HVAC technician and or Fire Department for air monitoring as soon as possible. This raises a lot of red flags and should be addressed immediately. Clearly there are some gas issues causing this vent to overheat and could easily cause carbon monoxide poisoning in the home or a house fire.

Grateful appreciation to all of the fire departments and additional resources involved with this incident. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers along with all of their employees.
