A big thank you to Dr. Alma Brown Littles!

Last night, Dr. Littles, Dean of the Florida State University College of Medicine, graciously joined us at the Gadsden County Republican Executive Committee meeting.

She gave an excellent overview of FSU Health including the important work happening in Tallahassee and Panama City Beach and shared insights into the future of medical education and healthcare access in our region.

We truly appreciate her time, expertise, and commitment to serving North Florida. Events like this remind us how vital strong partnerships are between our medical institutions and our local communities.

Thank you, Dr. Littles!

A PACKED house last night to hear from Ms. Rhea Goff with the St. Joe company.

They’ve got it going on over in Northwest Florida!

04/09/2026

The April 2026 Civic Education Program, sponsored by the Gadsden County Republican Executive Committee (GCREC), will be held on Monday, April 13th at 6:00 PM EDT at the Hazel Baker Community Center, 128 7th Avenue East, Havana, FL 32333. Casual dress.

This month’s presenter will be Rhea Goff, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of The St. Joe Company. Ms. Goff brings more than two decades of experience with St. Joe, where she has overseen human resources, marketing, information technology, and corporate administration across the company’s operations. Her perspective offers a unique window into how one of Florida’s most significant landholding companies has evolved over time.

The modern St. Joe Company traces its roots to the historic St. Joe Paper Company Trust, which originated through land acquisitions associated with the Nemours Foundation and was guided by Florida’s famous Ed Ball. Today, as a publicly traded company, St. Joe (NY Stock Exchange Symbol - JOE) plays a leading role in shaping growth, development, and economic opportunity across Northwest Florida.

Ms. Goff will discuss leadership, workforce development, and the role of private enterprise in building strong communities throughout our region.

Of special local interest, Ms. Goff’s father, Mike Standley, is from Havana—providing a meaningful connection between her work across Northwest Florida and our own community.

All Civic Education Programs are open to the public on a nonpartisan basis.

Following the Civic Education Program, and in keeping with established protocol, there will be a formal “firewall” break before the GCREC business meeting is convened.

Please make every effort to attend this month’s GCREC-sponsored Civic Education Program. Participants consistently leave these programs better informed on issues affecting our community and state.

We look forward to seeing you on Monday, April 13th at 6:00 PM EDT in Havana!

The March 2026 Civic Education Program, sponsored by the Gadsden County Republican Executive Committee (GCREC), will be held on
Monday, March 9th at 6:00 PM EDT at the
Hazel Baker Community Center
128 7th Avenue East
Havana, FL 32333

This month’s presenter will be Major Sena Lizenbee, Chief of Staff of the Florida State Guard. Major Lizenbee will provide an overview of the mission and role of Florida’s new State Guard in protecting Florida’s communities.

Topics will include the Guard’s responsibilities in disaster response, public safety support, and specialized capabilities often associated with military resources. In practical terms, the Florida State Guard is a state emergency and public-safety force operating under the authority of the Governor of Florida. It is separate from the Florida National Guard and cannot be federalized or sent overseas.

This presentation provides an opportunity to learn about the State Guard and what this new resource means for the citizens and communities of Florida.

All Civic Education Programs are open to the public on a nonpartisan basis.

Please make every effort to attend this month’s GCREC-sponsored Civic Education Program. Participants consistently leave these programs better informed on issues affecting our community and state.

What a wonderful evening at the Gadsden County Republican Executive Committee Christmas Dinner! 🎄🇺🇸

We took a moment to honor State Committeewoman Pam Kylleon, who is stepping down after seven years of faithful and dedicated service. Pam has been a steady leader for our county, and one of the highlights of her service was proudly representing Florida as a delegate at last year’s Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. We are grateful for all she has poured into Gadsden County.

With her vacancy, our members held an election and proudly selected Karen Watson as our new State Committeewoman. Because Karen previously served as Vice Chair, a second election was held, and Mr. Neil Wade was elected to fill that role. Congratulations to both!

We were also honored to welcome Jefferson County REC Chairman Glenn Bishop, who delivered a great presentation and joined us for the evening’s fellowship.

It was a night of good food, good company, and a strong sense of community as we look ahead to 2026 and beyond.

From all of us at the Gadsden County REC—Merry Christmas, and may God bless you and your families this season! 🎄✨🎁

Good afternoon!

The subject November 2025 “Civic Education Program” sponsored by the Gadsden County Republican Committee (GCREC), will be held on Monday, November 10th @ 6:00 PM in the
Hazel Baker Community Center
128 7th Ave E
Havana, FL 32333

This month’s GCREC sponsored civic education presenter will be Havana Police Chief, Kenneth “Kenny” Lewis.

Chief Lewis will be sharing information regarding the “open carry” of fi****ms in Florida and the implications this recent legal paradigm shift holds for small communities and their police departments.

With an estimated 35.35% of Florida adults now living in households with a firearm, multiple questions have been raised by businesses, churches, not-for-profits, multi-family housing units, and local government facilities related to how the open carry of fi****ms going forward will likely impact their respective interests.

To quote the old adage, “a gun, like any source of power, is a force for either good or evil, being neither in itself, but dependent upon those who possess it”, makes it incumbent upon every citizen to gain a better understanding of their Second Amendment Right to keep and bear arms and how to properly exercise this expanded right here in Florida.

You will not want to miss Chief Kenny Lewis’s presentation and this opportunity to learn about Florida’s “open carry” of fi****ms and its implications for all of us!
