Focused on Our Future

The Election is right around the corner, it is April 25, 2023. I am a candidate for Mayor who is Focused on our Future. I hope that you make the most of your opportunity to make your voice heard with your vote for your City Mayor and council selections. I would like to take this time to let those who may not know, how I originally came to be a part of our town and town council. I moved to the town of Jackson in 2008 after marrying my wife Jennifer who was born and raised here. I was originally brought to the area in 1988 when stationed at Fort Gordon. Our children grew up in the school district that serves Jackson and several of our children participated in the youth sports programs offered in the Jackson community as well. I have served the sports programs by coaching when my boys were younger and umpiring for the past several years. I quickly became interested in supporting and strengthening the community as a whole and ran for Mayor as a Write-In candidate for Mayor in 2015. As many of you all know, Mayor Todd Etheredge was re-elected but the experience was Very positive, educational and only made me want to be more involved. I congratulated Mayor Etheredge and proceeded to run for town council in the 2017 and 2021 election years. I have been Honored to serve you as a councilperson for the past 6 years. During that time I have taken every opportunity offered to educate myself through the Municipal Association of South Carolina (MASC) so I can better Serve You! I have completed the SC Municipal Elected Officials Institute of Government, SC Advanced Municipal Elected Officials Institute training program and now doing continuing education classes. I also hold a Bachelors Degree in Business from the University of Nebraska at Kearney NE.

I feel that Everything happens in His Timing not ours. This is what He wanted for me and His order of events certainly proved His Ways are always best. I quickly Learned that there is a lot more to being a part of Town government and it is Far from simply sitting in a seat. It takes Knowledge, Honesty, Commitment and Experience in order to Serve the town and Most importantly the People of the town. I can honestly say, I feel the sequence of events and experiences that have taken place from the time I ran for mayor as a Write In candidate up to the present time have now given me all of these strengths in order to Serve the Town and the Town’s people.

I would appreciate your support and Vote on April 25th 2023!!!

Did you Know: That not long after being placed in the police commissioners’ seat in the last town council election that we lost our Beloved Chief Rushton. It was an unexpected Blow to his family and our Entire community. I had just began my duties on town council and Chief Rushton welcomed me as the New Police Commissioner, met with me on a regular basis and began teaching me as he had taught those who worked beside him throughout his career. This event would be followed not by only needing to find a new Chief of Police to Serve you, but in the year or two that followed this loss, two of the remaining officers chose to retire and one was offered a higher paying position with ACSO, resulting in the need for an entire new police force. I am Confident in saying that our new Chief and new officers are Experienced and are fully Dedicated to the protection, safety and wellbeing of our community.
