We thank everyone who attended the Memorial Day events at our Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemeteries in Newton and Kilmichael.

Despite the stormy weather, America’s fallen heroes were honored, and their families were reminded that we have not forgotten.

Their service will always be appreciated.

We invite you to attend our annual Memorial Day Ceremonies at our two Mississippi Veteran Memorial Cemeteries, located in Kilmichael and Newton. Both events will begin at 10 AM and are free and open to the public. The addresses are as follows:

Kilmichael Location: 2 Legion Road, Kilmichael, MS 39747

Newton Location: 248 Honor Circle, Newton, MS 39345

Join us as we honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Tuesday- Senior Citizens Day
(Walking Taco Bar w/ Punch & Celebration Cake)

(Pizza w/ chips, sodas and Cookie platters/ Homemade ice-cream bar)

Thursday- Tropical Day
(Breakfast buffet & Italian ice truck)

Friday- American Pride Day
(BBQ burgers and polish sausages w/ baked beans, salad, sodas & cupcakes)

Help us honor our Veterans by nominating a hero from your community!

The MHSAA is proud to continue its partnership with the MSVeteransAffairs during next week’s Baseball State Championships by honoring veterans from participating school communities across the state.

Through the Mississippi Salute Initiative, one veteran from each classification will be selected to receive a VIP Championship Experience for themselves and five guests that includes a seat upgrade and in game recognition during game two of each series.

Click the link below to nominate your veteran of choice to receive the Veteran VIP Experience. All nominees must be planning to attend the event to be selected.
