Kenneth Dale Duff, 63, of Jackson, Kentucky, departed this earthly life Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard. Born on July 16, 1962, in Hazard, Ken spent his life deeply rooted in the community he loved.
Ken dedicated his career to public service as a Kentucky State Trooper. His commitment to protecting and serving others was a hallmark of his life and a source of pride for those who knew him. Beyond his professional achievements, Ken was known for his passion for sports. He enjoyed coaching and spectating, sharing his enthusiasm with others. He was an avid supporter of the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals and the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
Family was at the heart of Ken’s life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Jamie Morgan Duff; his children: Ian (Tabitha) Duff, Dawson Duff, Kayleigh (Jacob) Watts, and Kennedy Duff; and five cherished grandchildren: Anna Duff, Andrew Duff, Ryan Watts, Everett Watts, and Maryn Watts. He is also survived by the mother of Ian and Kayleigh, Charlotte Breeding and his parents-in-law, J.B. and Joanie Morgan. Ken's legacy lives on through them and the countless memories they shared together.
He was predeceased by his parents, Vaughn and Ruby Stidham Duff, as well as his brother, Kevin Duff.
Visitation for Ken will be held Monday, May 11, 2026 at the Breathitt Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM and his funeral will begin at 1:00 PM with Chris Fugate and John Bunn officiating.
Burial will follow in the Jackson Cemetery with the Kentucky State Police serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all active and retired members of the Kentucky State Police, the Jackson City Police Department and Breathitt County Sheriff Department.

Ken will be remembered for his dedication to family and community and for the joy he found in sports and camaraderie. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
