Thank you to the Village of Kewaskum for hosting tonight’s Dinner Meeting. I would also like to thank our speaker Associate Professor Amber Wichowsky for an outstanding presentation on what Research and Community Dialog teach us about Civility. Professor Wichowsky tailored her presentation to our group and gave the room a lot to think about in their role as civic leaders. The statistics were eye opening. Let’s start working on some of the initiatives brought up tonight to help heal the divide.

Mid-Moraine Municipal Association along with the Village of Fredonia, hosted the Village Trustee Candidate Forum Saturday morning, lots of great answers to some tough questions.
This is what Democracy looks like! Thank you to the Candidates that participated, and to the Village for hosting this event.

Thank you to Zac Tretow (center) from ATC for his presentation tonight. Zac explained what ATC’s role is in building the infrastructure to meet the growing power demand in our region.
Also thank you to the Village of Grafton for hosting the meeting tonight, it’s a great venue and we’ll be back in April!

The Mid-Moraine Municipal Association is proud to Host the Village of Fredonia Candidate Forum on March 7th at the Village Government Center. Doors open at 9:30 with the Forum running from 10am to 12pm.
This is a great way for voters to meet the candidates and to find out where they stand on the issues.

A big thank you to Edwin Van Velzen, Senior Vice President of Construction for Vantage, for an eye opening presentation on the “Lighthouse Project” (Port Washington Data Center), from concept to construction. Mr Van Velzen informed the group on the economic and environmental impact that these projects have on a community. It was great to get the facts from a knowledgeable source.
Member communities were very well represented with 58 in attendance.
Thank you to the Village of Slinger for hosting, and to the “Slinger House” for a great dinner!

Mid-Moraine Municipal Association Legislative Committee Meeting:

A big thank you to tonight’s speakers Dustin Lofy, Washington County Emergency Management Coordinator and Scott Ziegler, Ozaukee County Emergency Management Director for a very informative presentation on Emergency Management preparedness and coordination with local officials and how to handle what happens after.
It’s good to know these gentlemen are continuously planning and updating the emergency response to be prepared any situation.

Congratulations to Rep’s Gundrum & Melotik, as they were selected to serve on Speaker Vos’ task force on Elder Services. A very important task force as our population ages.

A big thank you to 24th Assembly District Representative Paul Melotik for making a trip from Madison to speak at our Legislative Committee meeting this evening. A lot of great information passed on to our local elected officials as well as several local concerns sent back to Madison.
After an extremely troubling day in our fractured country, Democrats, Republicans and Independents sat in a Village Hall and had a civil discussion. THIS is how it’s done.

Also thank you to the Members that stepped up and were elected to a new two year term to serve on the Mid-Moraine Municipal Association Executive Board, it’s a pleasure to work with such a dedicated group.
