We are pleased to announce that sufficient water pressure is reported at all of our active school sites. As a result, in-person learning will resume at all schools tomorrow, Thursday, January 25, 2024.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our Facilities Operations team, school staff, teachers, and scholars for smoothly transitioning to virtual learning and relocating over the past several days. We also express gratitude to our parents for their patience and understanding throughout this process.

All JPS Schools Will Resume In-Person Learning on Wednesday, January 24, 2024!

A big thank you goes out to our dedicated teachers and students for a fantastic day of learning! Our gratitude extends to JXN Water and the JPS Facilities Operations team for their tireless efforts in restoring water pressure and addressing HVAC challenges across many of our schools.

We're delighted to observe an improvement in water pressure at numerous schools today. Consequently, all schools will resume in-person learning on Wednesday, January 24.

Due to continued challenges with their water systems, the following schools will be temporarily relocated:

• Marshall/Isable Elementary to Walton Elementary
• Key Elementary to North Jackson Elementary
• Lester Elementary to Lake Elementary

Buses will adhere to their regular routes for scholar pick-up at the usual times. Scholars will be bused from their home school to the relocated sites, where dedicated teachers will provide quality instruction. At the end of the school day, scholars will be transported back to their home school for dismissal.

Also, afterschool programming will resume at normal sites and times.

We will continue to keep you informed with updates and notify you of any changes to our regular schedule. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

JPS SCHOOL STATUS UPDATE - JAN. 23, 2024: We appreciate the patience of our students, families, and staff as we deal with the fluctuating weather conditions, along with water and HVAC challenges.
