🌺🌊🐬 OUR AWARDS DAY CELEBRATIONS WERE A WHOLE ISLAND VIBE AT Bates Elementary School! 🐬🌊🌺

This year’s Hawaiian-themed Awards Day Programs were the perfect reflection of our school theme: “Making Waves, One Dolphin at a Time!” 💙💚 Just like the waves of the ocean continue to move forward with strength and purpose, our Dolphins have continued to grow, rise, and shine all year long! 🌊✨

From tropical décor 🌺 to island vibes 🏝️ and joyful celebrations 🎉, every program reminded us that success happens one wave at a time — one goal achieved, one lesson learned, one challenge overcome, and one scholar celebrated. 🐬

Our students made HUGE waves academically, socially, and personally this school year, and we could not be more proud! Watching them smile, receive awards, and celebrate their accomplishments was truly a beautiful moment for our Bates family. 🏆💫

Bates Elementary families, TODAY is FIELD DAY and we are ready to MAKE WAVES! 🎉💙💚

We will have several AMAZING food vendors on-site serving delicious food, snacks, drinks, popcorn, desserts, and sweet treats throughout the day! 🍿🍔🍟🍰🍋

Parents, if your child would like to purchase items from the vendors, you may:

✈️🔥 BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING AT BATES ELEMENTARY! 🔥✈️

SURPRISE!!! 🎉🐬

Our amazing teachers — Ms. Mack, Ms. Dase, Ms. Kotts, and Mrs. Hamilton — were surprised with an ALL-EXPENSE PAID trip to Atlanta to visit the world-renowned ✨Ron Clark Academy✨!

What they thought was simply an after-school PD session at the Sheraton Hotel quickly turned into a moment they will NEVER forget! The excitement, shock, and pure joy on their faces said it all! 💙💚

Bates Elementary is beyond excited and honored to be selected as part of the Ignite the Classroom Initiative! 🔥📚 This incredible opportunity will allow our scholars and staff to experience innovative, high-energy instructional practices that will continue pushing our school to the next level.

Principal Barnes personally selected these outstanding educators because of their passion, creativity, leadership, and willingness to grow. These teachers are true game changers who will thrive from this experience and bring back powerful strategies to impact our classrooms and scholars! 🌊🐬

We are excited to celebrate BOTH our 1st Grade and 2nd Grade Dolphins tomorrow during our Awards Day Programs! 🎉🏆 Our scholars have worked extremely hard all year long, and we cannot wait to recognize their accomplishments, growth, and success with our Bates families! 💙💚

🌴 Families are encouraged to join the fun by dressing in your favorite Hawaiian attire to match our tropical celebration theme! ☀️🌺

With great excitement and pride, we officially announce the crowning of our Mr. Bates 2026, Jose Solorazano, and Miss Bates 2026, Genesis Brooks! ✨🎉

These outstanding scholars were selected by their 3rd–5th grade peers after receiving the MOST votes for consistently being positive, respectful, responsible, and model school leaders each and every day! Their leadership, character, kindness, and school spirit truly shine throughout our building. 💙💚

Genesis and Jose represent what it means to be a Bates Dolphin — leading by example, making great choices, encouraging others, and always striving for excellence. 🌊🐬

🎓🐬 5th Grade Awards Program Reminder 🐬🎓

Dear 5th Grade Parents & Families,

We are excited to celebrate our amazing 5th grade scholars during their Awards Program! Please review the important details below to help ensure a smooth arrival and dismissal process.

📍 Location: Cardozo Middle School
🕛 Program Start Time: 12:00 p.m.
🚪 Guest Entry Time: 11:30 a.m.

👔 Dress Attire:
The dress attire for the 5th Grade Awards Program is black and white dress attire. ⚫⚪

📚 Student Arrival Reminder:
If your child will not attend school tomorrow morning due to preparation for the program, please ensure they arrive at school no later than 11:00 a.m. Scholars will need to enter through the FRONT ENTRYWAY to be checked in.

Please note: Families will need to enter through the BACK SIDE of the school on the Cardozo Middle School Gym side. We will have BLUE STAR BALLOONS placed at the end of the sidewalk to help guide you to the correct entrance.

🔒 Security Reminder:
For safety purposes, ONLY clear purses/bags will be allowed inside the building. Security will be stationed at the door, and anyone with a non-clear purse or bag will be asked to return it to their vehicle.

To avoid delays and time constraints, please:
✔️ Bring a clear purse/bag only
OR
✔️ Leave purses and bags at home or in your vehicle

🍭 Concession Stand:
We will have $2 cotton candy available for purchase at the concession stand after the ceremony ends.

🚨 Important Reminder:
Due to testing taking place at the middle school, guests will not be allowed to linger in the hallway areas after the program concludes. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

📝 Student Sign-Out:
After the program concludes, parents/guardians will be able to sign their scholar out for dismissal. Sign-out sheets will be located inside the Cardozo gym.
