Butts County Development Authority Director of Business Retention & Expansion, Melissa Griffin, was at Jackson High School today in conjunction with the Career PhD initiative. "We are thrilled to partner with Dr. Sohmer McKibben and the CTAE Department at Jackson High School on the Career PHD initiative. This collaborative program is aimed at graduating seniors who are interested in pursuing immediate careers with local industries."
The primary goal of Career PHD is to help students gain a deeper understanding of essential workplace skills. We aim for soon-to-be graduates to secure and accept full-time job offers from participating employers. Today's program featured a presentation by Amazon Web Services sharing information on career opportunities with Amazon Web Services data centers.
"A special thank you to Ga Youth Builders who presented in February on careers in the construction sector, and Amazon Web Services for presenting to our students and helping them become aware of the high-demand positions in your fields."
Stay tuned for more pictures as additional companies will present later in the month.
