A food truck can look completely legitimate from the outside. That’s why it’s worth taking a closer look before you order.

North Carolina has food-safety requirements for regulated food trucks, including requirements involving safe water, handwashing, food preparation, equipment and waste disposal.

So before you buy, take a moment to look for the required permit or other posted public health information.
Can’t find it?

Ask the vendor—or check with the local health department.

A quick look can help you make an informed choice. That’s public health at work.
